Face lift surgery incisions are usually hidden in and behind the ear, and there may be swelling and bruising which can last for a few days. 

Pain, if any, can be controlled with oral medication. Healing is gradual, and within two or three weeks, you will feel confident being seen in public. However, allow ten to twelve weeks to feel like yourself again, and be sure to avoid the sun for the first year.
